A boiler maker claims he developed a number of health issues as a result of his occupation exposure to asbestos dust and fibers.
Francis Champagne has filed a lawsuit against 25 companies for negligently exposing him to deadly asbestos fibers and therefore causing the malignant disease he developed. He had filed a separate lawsuit in the past over some non-malignant asbestos-related illnesses. His previous claims have been settled already.
Champagne filed his complaint on 6th March in Jefferson County District Court. He says his diseases are linked to toxic fibers to which he was exposed while working with and around various asbestos products. The dates of his employment are not mentioned in the lawsuit.
The defendant companies manufactured, distributed, or used asbestos products, but failed to warn employees regarding the hazards associated with them, the complaint says.
Champagne is seeking exemplary damages.
