Woman’s Family Sues Killer Asbestos Companies

ST. LOUIS – The family of a deceased woman is suing 44 companies in a lawsuit filed in St. Louis Circuit Court, claiming that she was diagnosed with lung cancer because of her exposure to asbestos during her employment as a laborer with Bussmann Manufacturing Company for more than 10 years. According to the suit, Rodessa Norful worked with Bussmann from 1969 to 1980. The complaint doesn’t say where she was residing at. According to the plaintiffs, the companies exposed Norful to various products containing asbestos regularly during her job. She developed lung cancer on account of her continuous exposure to the hazardous mineral, the plaintiffs allege. The companies were aware of the risks associated with exposure to asbestos fibers, but they didn’t warn Norful or her co-workers, according to the complaint. Norful family is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
